News:

• Fireworks Reminder: Fireworks are illegal in Bothell year-round, including on Independence Day, per BMC 8.37. Celebrate safely by attending public shows or community events. Free educational yard signs are available at Bothell City Hall, open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (info)

• City Council Update: Kenmore City Council unanimously adopted a resolution opposing Washington Initiative 2117, which aims to repeal the Climate Commitment Act and ban any cap-and-trade program within the state, potentially impacting Kenmore's in-progress projects funded through CCA grants. • Annual Highlands Survey Highlights: The 2024 Community Survey reveals that neighborhood crime and safety is the top concern for Issaquah Highlands residents, while a majority feel a strong sense of belonging and value social connectedness. • Remodel Uncovers Hidden Past of XXX Drive-In: The conversion of the old XXX Root Beer restaurant in Issaquah to a Burgermaster has revealed the original drive-in infrastructure, including the well-preserved car service ramp. • Sammamish Traffic Updates: Starting July 9, expect delays at Southeast 8th Street and Southeast Windsor Boulevard for restriping work. From July 8, repainting traffic signals and street light poles on Southeast 30th Street will cause partial lane closures from 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. Maintenance of road markings will occur intermittently throughout July and August. Starting July 8, 244th Avenue Northeast will be fully closed for six weeks for support wall repair, with detours in place. (info)
