  • Playground Fire Strikes Again: Phantom Lake Elementary's playground burned down for the second consecutive year, following a similar incident caused by fireworks last year, costing the community $450,000 in reconstruction. Investigators are seeking information from the public. (info)

  • Possible Measles Exposure in Bellevue, Seattle, Woodinville: A case of measles has been confirmed in a person who reported going to multiple businesses across King County. (info)

  • Bellevue Food Bank Helping Hundreds of Families Every Week: Renewal Food Bank in Bellevue provides diverse, fresh, and healthy food to around 500 families weekly, relying entirely on donations and food rescue efforts to support those in need. (info)

  • Local Waters Still Run Cold during Warm Days: Despite warmer temperatures, lake and river waters in Washington remain cold from the wet, cool spring, posing risks of cold water shock. Always wear a life jacket, know your limits, and learn boating safety to stay safe. (info)

  • Your Feedback: Pool Feasibility Study: The City of Issaquah has completed a feasibility study to explore expanding the Julius Boehm Pool, built in 1972 and updated in 2015, to meet current and future demands. Sammamish:

News:

  • Southeast 24th Street Sidewalk Improvements: Starting July 16 and lasting until August 16, construction will take place on Southeast 24th Street to install a new storm drainage system, sidewalk, and bike lane.   • Louis Thompson Road Power Line Work: Puget Sound Energy is raising the height of light poles and trimming vegetation to clear power lines for City construction on Louis Thompson Road. Work began on June 14 and will continue through the end of July. (info)

  • 244th Avenue Northeast Road Maintenance: Due to a 2020 landslide, 244th Avenue Northeast near SR 202 will undergo repairs starting July 8 for approximately six weeks.   • Federal Funding for Fish Migration Project: Congresswoman Suzan DelBene presented Woodinville with an $850,000 ceremonial check to support fish migration and habitat restoration along Little Bear Creek, secured through Community Project Funding in FY24. (info)

  • Culvert Replacement Project: The project will address flooding and fish passage issues by replacing three undersized 60-inch culverts with a one-lane bridge, using part of a demolished railroad trestle from the SR202 Corridor project. This will open up 5 miles of habitat for fish. (info)
