What we are currently loving!

Food:

Boehm’s Candies (Issaquah)

Sweet tooth or not Boehm’s Candies is the place for you! A classic, eclectic shop with handmade chocolates and candies and classes Boehm’s Candies has it all. Located in a beautiful Edelweiss Chalet in the foothills of the mountains in Issaquah Boehm’s transports you to another world. It is an unbelievable experience and a place everyone who has lived in Issaquah knows all about! With Valentine’s Day coming up everyone should stop by Boehm’s Candies and give them a try. You will leave wanting more and more. With all the candies made with love and precision, you will never forget your first bite of a delicious Boehm’s Chocolate Bar. Just amazing!!! Our favorites are the 5 piece sampler where you get a chew, truffle, soft center, and two foiled chocolate pieces. We also loveeeee their Caramel Strips. I cannot stop thinking about them and how amazing they are. If you are ever in Issaquah stop by Boehm’s Candies!

Famous Kitchen (Issaquah)

Do you ever get tired and hungry from a long day of shopping at the Issaquah Costco? Don’t want to eat that thick cheesy slab of a pizza anymore? Then you have to try Famous Kitchen, it is literally right next to the Costco. We make sure to visit here at least once a month. Featuring generous family-style portions and showcasing delectable roast ducks, your satisfaction is guaranteed when you leave here. They serve authentic Canton BBQ duck/pork/ribs and much more. Our favorites are the vegetable fried rice, along with some duck, braised tofu and General Tso’s chicken. (ps: if you try it, please let us know what you think!!!)

Vibes:

  • This week in weather expect some rain Tuesday and Wednesday but then the sun should roll in on Thursday and Friday giving some much needed relief from the rain. With Punxsutawney Phil not seeing his shadow it looks like we will have an early spring! Get ready for some early sun!!!

  • We’re absolutely loving Come True, an EP by Surf Mesa, a Sammamish native! Give it a listen and let us know what you think. Our favorite track is First Time!

  • There are so many community heroes in our Eastside towns that they should be celebrated in their communities. Starting this week we want to hear from you all about who has made the most impact in your life in your community. Submit your answer here and we will shoutout a community member in next weeks newsletter! We look forward to hearing about all the amazing people in our towns :)
